The purpose of the visit was to supervise the ongoing registration camps for beneficiaries enlisted in the Permanent Wait List (PWL) under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) Awas Plus Scheme.
To expedite the registration and approval process, the blocks of Ghat and Bhagwah have been directed to organize special facilitation camps. The Rural Development Department has allocated new targets for these blocks under the rural housing scheme. The deadline for sanctioning these cases has been set as June 30, 2023, with the completion of houses expected by March 31, 2024.
During the visit, ACD Doda, Sh. Phulail Singh, informed Director Mohammad Mumtaz Ali about the formation of panchayat level committees in addition to the facilitation camps at the block level. These committees have been tasked with visiting the homes of beneficiaries to collect the required documents for registration. Notably, the district of Doda has been assigned a target of constructing 15,000 houses under the Awas Plus component of PMAY-G.
Director Mohammad Mumtaz Ali emphasized the need to simplify the registration and verification process to ensure a hassle-free experience for beneficiaries. He also took the opportunity to address the queries raised by beneficiaries present at the camp.
The RDD Jammu, under the guidance of Director Mohammad Mumtaz Ali, is actively working towards the successful implementation of the PMAY-G Awas Plus Scheme in District Doda.
