Chiralla Development Society Demands Urgent Completion of Sunarthawa to Chiralla Circular Road

In a pressing plea for immediate action, the Chiralla Development Society has called for the timely completion of the Sunarthawa to Tehsil HQ Chiralla Circular Road, demanding blacktopping along the entire route and the installation of pullies at Binola and Duggi Nallahs. The society highlights the critical importance of this road, which connects several panchayats and serves as the shortest route to the main highway.

Expressing deep concern over the unsatisfactory progress of the macadamization work initiated three to four years ago, the society points out that numerous sections of the road are still incomplete, lacking culvert pipes and pullies. Of particular concern are the Binola and Duggi Nallahs, where no work has been done beyond the front walls. These locations are prone to flooding, with water from the entire panchayat area flowing continuously, yet they remain devoid of essential infrastructure.

One of the most perilous sections of the road is situated behind Bajja village, where deep trenches and potholes have formed, resembling a watercourse. Even a light rainfall renders this stretch highly slippery and dangerous, posing a significant risk to motorists and pedestrians alike.

The Chiralla Development Society expresses disappointment at the sluggish pace of work, noting that only a handful of laborers have been visible on the site over the past two years. They question who should be held responsible for the delay and demand consequences for any contractors found responsible. They call for the blacklisting of contractors by the PMGSY Department, should they fail to complete the work within the specified timeframe.

Concerns are also raised regarding the role of the PMGSY Department, as funds were released for the project up to the blacktopping stage two to three years ago. The society wonders why the department has remained passive in addressing the issue, urging the immediate intervention of His Excellency LG Manoj Sina, through the worthy Deputy Commissioner of Doda, to ensure the road’s completion or the transfer of the project to a contractor capable of delivering results within the agreed-upon timeframe.

The Chiralla Development Society’s plea for urgent action aims to bring attention to the dire state of the Sunarthawa to Tehsil HQ Chiralla Circular Road, emphasizing the need for immediate blacktopping, installation of pullies at Binola and Duggi Nallahs, and a solution for the hazardous condition of the road near Bajja village. The society hopes that their appeal will spur the relevant authorities into action, bringing relief to the local communities who rely on this vital transportation link.
