In a distressing incident, an unidentified individual leaped into the flowing waters of the river Jhelum near the Qamarwari bridge in Srinagar district, central Kashmir. The daring act prompted an immediate response from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), which swiftly initiated a rescue operation to locate and retrieve the person.
The SDRF sprang into action following a report received by the officials indicating that an individual had jumped off the cement bridge in Qamarwari and into the river Jhelum. With utmost urgency, the team immediately coordinated efforts to locate the individual and ensure their safety.
Although the identity of the person remains unknown at this time, the SDRF, along with other concerned authorities, is tirelessly working to establish their identity and gather any relevant information that might aid in the rescue operation.
A spokesperson from the SDRF stated, “We have received information regarding an individual jumping into the river from the cement bridge in Qamarwari. Our team promptly responded to the distress call and is fully engaged in the rescue operation to locate the individual. We are utilizing all available resources to bring them to safety.”
Authorities are urging the public to cooperate and provide any information that could help identify the individual. The police and local administration are working in tandem with the SDRF, pooling their resources and expertise to expedite the search operation.
