SIU of Kishtwar Police Conducts Raids on Houses of Militants Operating from POK/PAK

The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Kishtwar Police carried out a series of raids today at multiple locations in Kishtwar District, targeting the houses of militants believed to be operating from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) or Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PAK). The raids were conducted with the intention of gathering evidence and further investigating the involvement of these individuals in anti-national activities and terrorism.

According to SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal-JKPS, the raids were conducted under the authority of house search warrants obtained from the NIA court in Jammu. The operations were carried out by different teams led by SDPOs, including a magistrate, who ensured that proper standard operating procedures (SOPs) were followed during the raids. The houses of the following individuals were searched:

  1. Manzoor Ahmed, also known as Tahir Inqalabi, son of Ghulam Ali Naik, resident of Dwather Singpura.
  2. Nazir Ahmed, also known as Shaheen, son of Mohd Akbar Sheikh, resident of Beighpura Singpura Chatroo.
  3. Shabir Ahmed, also known as Junaid, son of Gh. Mohd Rishi, resident of Sewa Chatroo.
  4. Mohd Igbal Rishi, also known as Muzamil Ansari, son of Ab. Rashid, resident of Dellar Chatroo.
  5. Mohd Amin Bhatt, son of Gh. Qadir Bhatt, resident of Naryan Chingam.
  6. Mohd Iqbal, also known as Bilal, son of Mohd Akber Butt, resident of Near Kichloo Market Kishtwar, with an alternate address at Umar Mohalla Kishtwar.

The objective of these raids was to gather evidence that could be used in judicial proceedings against the accused individuals, aiming to establish their involvement in anti-national activities and the perpetuation of terrorism.

SSP Kishtwar, Mr. Poswal-JKPS, further stated that any individuals found to be supporters or associates of the militants during the investigations would also face prosecution. He emphasized that these searches were part of a broader effort to eliminate the militant ecosystem in the district, with a specific focus on identifying over-ground workers and supporters of militancy.

The investigations will continue, and further actions will be taken based on the evidence collected during the raids. The police are committed to conducting a thorough and fair investigation while upholding the principles of justice and the rule of law.
