After Doda and Kishtwar, Schools in Ramban District Also Closed Due to Inclement Weather Conditions

Following the recent decision to close schools in Doda and Kishtwar districts due to heavy rainfall and inclement weather, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Ramban, in a tweet, announced the closure of all Government and Private schools in District Ramban on 19th July 2023. The measure has been taken to ensure the safety and well-being of the students amid the challenging weather conditions.

The CEO Ramban took to Twitter to inform the public about the closure of schools in the district, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the students during adverse weather situations. The decision to close schools for the day comes after similar announcements in neighboring Doda and Kishtwar districts, where the heavy rainfall and inclement weather have been causing disruptions.

The tweet by the CEO Ramban read, “All Govt./Pvt. Schools functioning in District Ramban shall remain closed on 19-07-2023 due to inclement weather conditions. Besides, all Head of Institutions (HOIs) shall ensure that students who have attended school today must reach their homes safely.”

However, concerns were raised by some members of the public regarding the timing of the announcement. A Twitter user pointed out that the schools had already opened at 9:00 AM, making the closure announcement seemingly late. In response, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ramban defended the decision, stating, “It is never late. CEO-R has directed all HoIs to ensure schoolchildren return safely. Besides, many schools open at 10.00 am.”

The news of school closures in Ramban district adds to the precautionary measures taken by the respective administrations in response to the heavy rainfall and inclement weather conditions in the region. The decision is aligned with the primary focus on ensuring the safety and well-being of the students.

Parents and guardians are urged to keep a close eye on official announcements and updates from local authorities regarding any further changes in school operations. Additionally, they are advised to cooperate with school authorities and follow safety guidelines to ensure the safe return of students to their homes.

The District Administration, along with the education authorities, continues to closely monitor the weather situation in the district and will take necessary steps to resume regular school activities once the weather conditions improve and it is deemed safe for students and staff.

It is crucial for everyone to exercise caution and stay informed about any developments in the weather situation. The well-being of the students remains a top priority, and the administration is committed to taking all necessary measures to ensure their safety.
