Negligence of RDD Officials in Marwah and Warwan Leaves Residents in Distress, DPAP Vows Remedial Action

Vice-Chairman of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), GM Saroori, addressed a gathering in Kishtwar on Saturday, assuring the people of Marwah and Warwan of comprehensive development in their region should the DPAP come to power. The focus of this development agenda would be on improving roads, healthcare facilities, and rural infrastructure.

Marwah and Warwan, located in the Kishtwar district, have long remained disconnected from the outside world for approximately six months each year. Vice-Chairman Saroori voiced his concern over the lack of basic amenities and criticized the current administration for failing to address the pressing needs of these remote areas.

During his visit to the far-flung villages of Inshan, Mangil, Afti, Margi, Basmina, Choi Draman, and Braaian, Saroori observed the dire lack of essential services such as electricity, internet connectivity, and telephone facilities. Additionally, he pointed out that the people of Warwan have endured the absence of road communication for five months, leaving them isolated and underserved.

Highlighting the negligence in the development of the Warwan block of Kishtwar district, Saroori specifically called out the Rural Development Department (RDD) for its inaction over the last three years. He further expressed concern over the absenteeism of RDD officials in the region, which has halted construction and developmental works and exacerbated public issues in the area. This lack of action has also led to the unfortunate lapse of government funds allocated for public works and development in Kishtwar.

Addressing the grievances of the locals, Vice-Chairman Saroori assured the gathering that the DPAP government, if elected, would prioritize the development of Marwah and Warwan. The party aims to improve road connectivity, upgrade healthcare facilities, and invest in essential rural infrastructure to uplift the living standards of the people in the region.
