In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a man has been arrested for allegedly attempting to murder his own son in the Sonawar locality of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district. The accused, identified as Mehmood Ahmad Wani, son of Nazir Ahmad Wani, reportedly stabbed his son following a heated argument.
According to a police official, the incident took place after a verbal dispute escalated between the father and son, resulting in a violent altercation. The victim, whose identity has been withheld, was swiftly evacuated to a nearby hospital, where his condition is currently reported to be stable. Authorities have taken swift action, apprehending Mehmood Ahmad Wani and recovering the weapon of offense at the scene.
Police officials have promptly registered a First Information Report (FIR) under section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertains to the charge of attempted murder.
