Four Teenage Boys Booked for Attempted Murder Following Altercation in Thane, Maharashtra

In a recent incident, the Thane Police in Maharashtra have filed a case against four teenage boys aged between 16 and 17 for their alleged involvement in attempting to kill a 16-year-old student. According to an official statement on Wednesday, the altercation stemmed from a previous dispute between the victim and the accused individuals.

Reportedly, the accused teenagers confronted the victim on Monday near Roshan Baugh in the Bhiwandi area and subjected him to severe physical assault. The victim was cornered under a tree where the suspects allegedly attacked him with physical force, and one of them reportedly inflicted an injury on the victim’s neck using a knife. The victim has been hospitalized and is currently receiving medical attention.

Based on the complaint filed by the victim, the Thane Police have initiated legal proceedings against the four accused individuals. The charges include offenses under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Section 307 (attempt to murder), Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), Section 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), Section 506 (criminal intimidation), and Section 34 (common intention).

As of now, the suspects remain at large, and the police are actively pursuing their apprehension.

In a separate incident reported from Mumbai, two college students from the Colaba area were arrested by the Mumbai Police for sharing a video clip depicting Pakistan’s Independence Day celebration as their status on a social networking platform. According to an official statement, the two male students were taken into prohibitory custody late on Monday night and later released after a warning.

The offensive video, featuring Pakistan’s flag, was shared on their Instagram story status. A local businessman brought the incident to the attention of the police, expressing concerns that the content could potentially disrupt the social climate.

Following the complaint, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) collaborated with the police to locate and question the students. The offending video was promptly removed from their mobile phones.

The arrest was carried out under CrPC section 151 (3) and was intended as a prohibitory measure. The students were released after being cautioned about the potential consequences of sharing sensitive content.
