In a distressing incident, a man sustained injuries following a low-intensity explosion that occurred within the confines of Chatha area, situated on the outskirts of the city. “A man from Chatha area of Jammu has received injuries after a low intensity explosion in the house of his brother,” Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Jammu, Chandan Kohli was quoted as saying by news agency UNI.
Preliminary investigations conducted by police officials have revealed that the explosion stemmed from the presence of low-intensity explosive material within the premises. This material, reportedly intended for illicit animal hunting and trapping activities, triggered the incident. “Initial investigation revealed that the explosive material of low intensity was kept in the house for the purpose of illegal act of animal hunting and traps,” said the SSP.
The injured individual is currently receiving medical treatment for the sustained injuries. The police have initiated legal proceedings, registering a case under pertinent sections of the law.
