The Inter-District Divisional Level Volleyball Tournament for girls, under the U-14 category, reached its thrilling conclusion today at the Sport Stadium Doda. Organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, the tournament showcased the remarkable talent and determination of approximately 100 young female student athletes.
The event, masterfully managed by District Youth Services and Sports Officer Doda, Jaffer Haider Sheikh, along with his dedicated team, offered a platform for budding athletes to display their skills, encouraging healthy competition and promoting physical fitness among young girls.
The participating districts in the Inter-District Divisional level volleyball tournament included Jammu, Doda, Rajouri, Reasi, Poonch, Kathua, Udhampur, and Samba. The competition was fierce as these districts vied for supremacy on the volleyball court.
In the battle for third place, Udhampur emerged victorious over Reasi in a thrilling contest, securing the 3rd place in the tournament. The finals witnessed an intense showdown between Rajouri and Poonch, with Rajouri emerging triumphant and claiming the winners’ trophy.
District Information Officer Doda, Mohammed Ashraf Wani, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and presented trophies and certificates to the participating and winning teams. In his concluding address, he extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the young athletes, the dedicated staff of the Youth Services and Sports department, coaches, and team managers. He emphasized the importance of sports events and activities in fostering the inclusive development of children, promoting physical fitness, encouraging teamwork, and instilling a sense of healthy competition.
