Official sources reported that the encounter, which had been intense and ongoing, resulted in the deaths of two militants. However, the identities of these militants are yet to be disclosed pending further investigations.
The security forces, consisting of a joint team comprising personnel from the Police, Army, and CRPF, had launched the Cordon and Search Operation in response to credible information about the presence of militants in the area.
This development in Uri Hathlanga follows another ongoing encounter in the Kokernag hills of Anantnag district, where four soldiers, including three from the army, and a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) had tragically lost their lives.
