In a thrilling showcase of talent and sportsmanship, Kathua emerged victorious at the UT-level All Age Group (AAG) boys wrestling competition hosted at Doda’s Indoor Stadium. The competition, featuring over 200 players from 9 districts, underscored not only the athletes’ prowess but also the significance of such events in promoting a culture of sportsmanship.
Participants from various districts, some hailing from afar, expressed their appreciation for the event. Although the desire to explore Doda’s picturesque hill spots like Dal Draman, Nagni, and Lal Draman was palpable, time constraints limited their excursions. Several promising young athletes vowed to return to Doda with their families to delve deeper into the region’s natural beauty.
The primary objective of these sports competitions is to foster a love for sports among children, encouraging physical fitness while steering them away from harmful habits such as drug use and gambling. With guidance from senior officials of the Youth Services and Sports Department, this sporting culture continues to thrive.
