In a tragic incident on September 27th, a Special Police Officer (SPO) lost his life, and three individuals, including two police personnel and a government teacher, sustained injuries when the vehicle they were traveling in met with an accident in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Official sources reported that the unfortunate incident occurred when a police van veered off the road, subsequently rolling down into a gorge near the Power House area at the Baghliar Dam site, Chanderkote, Ramban. The accident claimed the life of SPO Swami Raj, who was traveling in the vehicle at the time.
The injured individuals were identified as police constable Sewa Singh, the son of Chahtar Singh from Rajgarh, and Senior Grade Constable Parvaiz Ahmed. Additionally, Joginder Singh, a Government Teacher and the son of Kabal Singh hailing from Kumait, was also among those injured in the accident.
Immediate medical attention was provided to the injured parties, who were subsequently hospitalized for further treatment. However, tragically, Senior Grade Constable Parvaiz Ahmed’s injuries proved to be fatal, as per official who spoke to The Chenab Times. He succumbed to his injuries while being transferred to the Government Medical College (GMC) in Jammu due to the severity of his condition. Sources further revealed that Teacher Joginder Singh remains in critical condition, emphasizing the gravity of the incident.
A police official confirmed the accident and informed that a case has been registered in connection with the incident.
