Swasth Balak Balika Sapardha Organized at PO ICDS Office Kishtwar

In a dedicated effort to promote child welfare and ensure their overall health, the Swasth Balak Balika Sapardha event was organized at the PO ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services) office in Kishtwar. The event witnessed the active participation of esteemed dignitaries and stakeholders, signifying a collective commitment to the well-being of children and mothers in the region.

Among the notable attendees were Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma, the Project Officer of ICDS, Dr. M Y Mir, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Kishtwar, and Dr. Yudhveer Singh Kotwal, the Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Kishtwar. The event also gathered Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs), Medical Officers from the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), Supervisors, Anganwari Workers (AWW), and mothers of children attending Anganwadi Centers.

The primary focus of the event was to conduct a comprehensive health assessment of children, with a particular emphasis on assessing their hemoglobin levels. Height and weight measurements were also carried out to monitor their growth and development. The occasion served as a platform to recognize and appreciate healthy boys and girls for their well-maintained health.

During his address, Dr. M Y Mir, the CMO Kishtwar, highlighted the issue of nutritional deficiencies prevalent among children and stressed the importance of health interventions. He also emphasized the significance of immunization programs for pregnant mothers and newborns, underlining their role in ensuring a healthy start in life. Dr. Mir provided essential counseling to mothers in attendance, offering guidance on their dietary choices and the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma, the Project Officer of ICDS, shared insights into various women and children-oriented activities carried out at Anganwadi Centers. He also disseminated information about the different government schemes available to beneficiaries, reinforcing the commitment to enhancing the holistic well-being of women and children in the community.
