Srinagar – The Jammu & Kashmir Government has established a high-level committee to identify foreign nationals who have been illegally or overstaying in the Union Territory since January 1, 2011.
This committee, led by the financial commissioner/additional chief secretary of the Home department, includes various officials such as the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) from the Bureau of Immigration in Amritsar, Punjab, Senior Superintendents of Police from the CID Special Branch in Jammu and Srinagar, and all district Senior Superintendents of Police (FROs). Additionally, the State Coordinator from IVRFT, NIC, J&K, is also part of the panel, KNO reports.
The primary task of this panel is to prepare a monthly report concerning missing foreign individuals in Jammu & Kashmir. These reports will be submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs by the 7th of each month.
