Doda – In a recent development, the Office of the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) in Doda has issued an official order, terminating the services of Irshad Ahmed, who was serving as an Administrative Assistant under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). This order, bearing reference number ACDD/Estt./2023-24/17281-85 and dated October 10, 2023, has now come to light and is effective from March 16, 2023.
Irshad Ahmed had initially been appointed as an Administrative Assistant under MGNREGA in Block Gundna, based on ACD Doda’s Order No. ACDD/NREGA/2010/13973-78, which was issued on October 30, 2010. However, his prolonged unauthorized absence from his designated duties, starting from March 16, 2023, and subsequent departure abroad, prompted the Block Development Officer of Gundana to bring this matter to the attention of the ACD Doda.
The termination of Irshad Ahmed’s services is in accordance with the terms outlined in his appointment order, which explicitly stated that his contract could be terminated at any stage due to misconduct or unsatisfactory performance. Despite receiving multiple notices, Irshad Ahmed failed to resume his duties as an Administrative Assistant, which led to the termination of his contract.
The decision to terminate Irshad Ahmed’s services under MGNREGA has been recommended by the District Programme Coordinator (MGNREGA) in Doda. This termination comes into effect from the date of his initial absence on March 16, 2023.
The official order has been disseminated to various authorities and individuals for information and records. The Assistant Commissioner (Development) Doda, Phulall Singh, has been informed of this development, as has the Commissioner/Secretary to the Government Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Civil Secretariat in Jammu, the District Development Commissioner in Doda, the Director of Rural Development Department in Jammu, and the Block Development Officer in Gundna. Irshad Ahmed, the subject of this termination order, has also been notified.
The termination order is a significant administrative action taken in response to unauthorized absenteeism, underscoring the importance of adherence to contractual obligations within the MGNREGA framework. This order, dated October 10, 2023, was made public on October 23, 2023.
