Owner of Auto Rickshaw Booked for Allowing Minor Boy to Drive; Two Injured in Bhaderwah Town

In a recent development, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Doda have taken stringent action against traffic violators in Bhaderwah town, booking the owner of an e-Auto Rickshaw for allowing a minor boy to operate the vehicle. The incident resulted in injuries to two individuals.

The owner, identified as Mohd Ismail, son of Naseem Ahmed Ganie and resident of Jai road Bhaderwah, has been charged under FIR No. 148/2023 U/S 279, 337/336 IPC, and 04/181 MV Act. The e-Auto Rickshaw involved in the incident bears registration No. JK06B-7910.

Upon investigation, the police arrested Mohd Ismail and seized the Rickshaw. Additionally, the minor boy was produced in Juvenile Court to address the offenses related to the incident.

This action is part of Doda Police’s ongoing special drive against traffic violations in the region. Several FIRs have been registered against drivers, and numerous vehicles have been seized and challaned for various infractions, including exceeding seating capacity.

Doda Police issued a stern warning to vehicle owners and parents of minors, emphasizing that any vehicle, be it commercial, private, three-wheelers, two-wheelers, etc., noticed being driven by unauthorized drivers or minors will result in legal consequences. The police are committed to taking stringent measures against violators to ensure road safety in the district.
