DC Doda, SSP Doda Lead Road Safety Awareness Initiative in Doda

In a concerted effort to bolster road safety awareness, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Harvinder Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abdul Qayoom were prominent figures at the TRC Pul Doda during a recent road safety program. The initiative focused on imparting crucial insights into road safety, with a special emphasis on drivers and conductors.

DDC Harvinder Singh actively engaged with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) stall, showcasing a dedication to disaster preparedness. A significant aspect of the event was the provision of medical check-ups for drivers and conductors, highlighting a comprehensive approach to ensuring the well-being of pivotal personnel in the transportation sector.

The program saw the participation of key officers, including SE R&B Doda, ACD Doda, ARTO, Dy SP Traffic, CEO, EO Municipal Council Doda, and Xen PWD R&B, alongside representatives from Transporter’s unions, drivers, and conductors. This diverse representation underscored a collaborative cross-departmental effort to advocate for safer road practices and reduce the incidence of road accidents.

DDC Harvinder Singh, during the program, urged transport agencies to offer insurance options for travelers. This initiative enables commuters to claim a 2 lakh insurance amount in case of mishaps during their travel, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and instilling accountability in the transportation sector. Such measures, in conjunction with awareness programs and inspections, play a pivotal role in maintaining and elevating road safety standards in the Doda region.

Further, DDC Harvinder Singh directed concerned officers to establish restrooms for drivers covering long distances in specific areas. This move aims to enhance the comfort and well-being of drivers, contributing to overall road safety.
