A motorcycle accident in Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday afternoon resulted in the death of a resident identified as Abdul Rashid, son of Mohd Sadiq Butt.
The incident occurred near the Ghat Babore Bridge, according to Farid Ahmed Naik, a correspondent for The Chenab Times and a native of Halla village of Jatheli panchayat in Saraz region, where Rashid was residing as a resident son-in-law. Naik confirmed that Rashid hailed from Nandna village, Thathri, in the same district.
Details surrounding the accident remain unclear, pending an official investigation. The motorcycle involved bore the registration number JK06B 1433. Following the incident, Rashid was rushed to the Government Medical College (GMC) Doda, but medical personnel declared him brought dead upon arrival.
Farid Ahmed Naik expressed his condolences to the deceased’s family and confirmed that Rashid was his neighbour and relative. He further stated that Rashid’s family is originally from Nandna village and that he was residing in Halla village with his in-laws.
Authorities have not yet released any official statement regarding the cause of the accident or the ongoing investigation.
