Doda Police Crack Two Snatching Cases, Arrest Three Accused, Recover Cash and Mobile Phone

In a swift action, the Doda Police have worked out two separate snatching cases of mobile phone and cash and arrested three accused persons within 24 hours, police said.

In a statement issued to The Chenab Times, the police reported that on January 16, 2024, an individual Ibrahim Gujjar lodged a complaint at Doda Police Station, alleging that two unknown persons sitting beside him in a vehicle snatched Rs. 10,000 cash from him near Dessa Chowk, Doda, and fled. Based on the complaint, a case was registered under relevant sections, and the investigation was entrusted to PSI Aman Sharma.

Acting on technical leads and cultivated sources, the police team identified and arrested the accused persons within hours. They were identified as Yasir and Rafiq Ahmed, both residents of Doda, and the stolen cash of Rs. 10,000 was recovered from them.

In another incident reported on the same day, another individual Tariq Hussain filed a complaint at Doda Police Station stating that his mobile phone was snatched by Wasim Ahmed at the Doda Bus Stand. A case was registered under relevant sections and the investigation was initiated under the supervision of PSI Aman Sharma.

The accused, Wasim Ahmed, was apprehended by the police and the stolen mobile phone was recovered from him.

According to a statement issued by the District Police Doda, both the accused have a history of involvement in thefts and more recoveries are expected from them. Further investigation into both cases is ongoing.
