A delegation of the All J&K National Health Mission Employees Association met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan today.
The delegation of the All J&K National Health Mission Employees Association, led by Mr. Rohit Seth, Vice President of the All India NHM Association and accompanied by Dr. Nazir Hussain, Medical Officer and District President of the NHM Employees Association Kishtwar, Mr. Surinder Khajuria, District President Jammu, Mr. Mohd Amin Itto, District President Ramban, and Mr. Mohd Azam, District President Reasi, met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan today to apprise him of their long-pending concerns.
The association, representing thousands of contractual employees across various categories in the National Health Mission (NHM), submitted a memorandum outlining their demands, including regularization, salary disparity, pending salary payments, and a fair transfer policy.
The memorandum highlighted the ongoing nature of the NHM program and the vital role played by its staff in delivering essential health services across Jammu and Kashmir. It further emphasized the significant salary disparity between NHM employees in J&K compared to their counterparts in other states like Delhi and Haryana.
The association also raised concerns about the non-payment of salaries during a previous period of agitation and the lack of a transparent transfer policy, particularly for those assigned to remote locations for extended periods.
Lt Governor Sinha assured the delegation that he would look into their concerns and take appropriate action.
The NHM Employees Association has been advocating for the regularization of its members and the resolution of various grievances for several years. Today’s meeting with the Lt Governor represents a renewed effort to address these issues and secure a more secure and equitable future for NHM employees in Jammu and Kashmir.
