Two Killed in Ramban Road Accident

Two people died in a road accident on Monday night after their vehicle plunged into a deep gorge along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Ramban district.

An official said on Tuesday that the driver of the vehicle lost control while negotiating a sharp curve near Battery Chashma, causing the vehicle to fall into a 150-meter deep gorge on NH-44 at around 12:30 am.

Police, civil rescue teams, and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) responded to the accident and retrieved the bodies of the two occupants from the gorge. They were transported to the District Hospital Ramban, where they were declared dead on arrival.

The deceased have been identified as Hakam Din (25) and Tariq Ahmed (32), both residents of Village Dalwa, Sangaldan, Gool District Ramban.

A police case has been registered at the Ramban police station.
