A 19-year-old labourer from Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir, identified as Mohd Irfan S/o Tariq Hussain R/o Hojabola Kahara, was killed in a road accident on his way to work in Jalandhar, Punjab.
According to sources of The Chenab Times, the accident occurred within the jurisdiction of Police Station Bhogpur in Jalandhar. The details of the vehicle that hit Irfan are yet to be disclosed by the police.
A case has been registered at Police Post Lahdra, and an investigation is underway, family sources said. When contacting the police directly, the phone numbers of the SHO listed on the Jalandhar.nic.in website were not in use, and other numbers were continuously busy while we were filing this report. If contact is made later, this report will be updated.
Irfan’s body was handed over to his family after medico-legal formalities were completed on May 14th. His funeral prayers were held this morning, May 15th, at 9 am.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated by the Jalandhar police.
