In a significant development, a paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel lost his life during an ongoing operation against militants in Hiranagar, Kathua district. At approximately 3 a.m., Constable K Dass sustained critical bullet injuries amidst the exchange of fire with militants who were cornered in the area. Despite immediate medical attention and being shifted to the Sub District Hospital Hiranagar, Constable Dass succumbed to his injuries, deeply mourning the loss within the CRPF community.
This tragic incident unfolded following an attack in the region, which left a civilian injured and prompted swift action from security forces. In the initial phase of the encounter, one militant has been neutralized, underscoring the intensity and gravity of the situation.

Meanwhile, in Bhaderwah’s Chattargala area, around 1:45 AM, a joint Naka comprising army and police personnel engaged with militants, resulting in a firefight. During the exchange, five army soldiers and one SPO sustained bullet injuries, highlighting the perilous nature of counter-insurgency operations.
