“Resign in 10 Days or…” Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath Receives Death Threat, Citing ‘Baba Siddique’ Incident

The Mumbai Traffic Police have reported a serious death threat against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The threat, which was sent via a WhatsApp message from an unknown number, demands that Adityanath resign from his position within 10 days or risk being “killed like Baba Siddique,” referring to the recent killing of the former Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) leader, who was shot in Bandra last month.

The alarming message, received by the Mumbai Traffic Control Cell on Saturday evening, has put authorities on high alert as they work to trace the origin of the message and identify those responsible. In response, security for Adityanath has been increased, especially as he is expected to visit Maharashtra soon to participate in the state assembly election campaign.

In a public statement, Mumbai Police confirmed, “The Mumbai Traffic Police Control Room received a death threat regarding UP CM Yogi Adityanath yesterday. The message said that if CM Yogi doesn’t resign in 10 days, he will be killed like Baba Siddique.” The police confirmed that investigations are actively underway to track down the source of the message.

The reference to Baba Siddique is notable given the chilling circumstances of his murder. Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister, was shot dead on October 12 while celebrating the Dussehra festival outside his son’s office in Bandra. According to police, three assailants approached Siddique in a carefully executed attack, raising regional tensions. No official arrests have yet been announced in the case, although police investigations are ongoing.

This latest threat to Adityanath follows a series of high-profile threats targeting other public figures, including Bollywood actor Salman Khan. Just days ago, Khan received a message demanding Rs 2 crore, adding to a series of threats against him attributed to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In April, suspected members of the gang opened fire outside Khan’s Bandra home, and a later investigation by the Navi Mumbai police unearthed a plot allegedly orchestrated by the Bishnoi gang to target the actor, prompting further security measures around his residence.
