In a tragic accident early this morning, three people lost their lives, and three others were critically injured when a vehicle plunged into a deep gorge at Ziarat Mode in the Mahore area of Reasi district. The ill-fated Bolero, bearing registration number JK 20C 7280, was en route from Jammu to Reasi when the incident occurred.
According to local officials, the accident happened near Ziarat Modh in the Ganjod area, reportedly due to the challenging road conditions in the hilly terrain. The vehicle fell into a deep gorge, instantly claiming the lives of three individuals. Initial reports indicate that all the deceased belonged to the same family, amplifying the tragedy for the affected community.
One of the injured, Mr. Shabir Ahmad, a Rehbar-e-Khel teacher from Zone Mahore, suffered serious injuries and was immediately referred to Jammu for advanced medical care. Tragically, his eight-year-old daughter was among those who lost their lives in the accident. The Jammu & Kashmir Rehbar-e-Khel Teachers Forum (JKRKTF) expressed deep sorrow over the incident, extending condolences for the bereaved and calling for prayers for Mr. Shabir’s recovery.
The remaining injured individuals were transported to the CHC Mahore for treatment. Police authorities have taken cognizance of the incident and are conducting an investigation to ascertain the precise cause of the accident.
