Doda, March 8 – One person died, and six others sustained injuries after a vehicle skidded off the road and plunged approximately 200-220 feet into a gorge near Fafri in Doda district on Saturday, local sources told The Chenab Times.
According to an official report from Government Medical College (GMC) Doda, Nazim Batt, 19, son of Mohd Yousaf, was brought dead to the hospital. Five others, identified as Irfan Ahmed, 40, Mozim Shafi, 18, Adil Hussain, 30, and Asif Ali, 16, all residents of Gundna, were admitted to GMC Doda for treatment. Adil Hussain sustained a head injury, while the others suffered multiple injuries.
Two other individuals sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
The accident involved an Eco vehicle, bearing registration number JK06A-6642, which was traveling from Gundna to Fafri when it veered off the road near Fafri.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. Further details are awaited.
