The police said an FIR (No. 121/2025) under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act was registered at Police Station Doda.

In a separate operation on the same day, police personnel from PP Kashtigarh established a checkpoint and stopped another Tata Mobile vehicle (registration number JK06-2467), which was also allegedly carrying six bovine animals without valid permission, the statement said.
