Assam Rifles Enhances Digital Access at Khankoot School in Doda

Doda, 13 July — In a bid to bolster digital literacy and educational infrastructure in remote regions of Jammu and Kashmir, the 25 Assam Rifles, under the command of Major Jagtar Singh, distributed computers and stationery to students at Government High School, Khankoot, in Doda district.

The outreach effort forms part of the Assam Rifles’ ongoing Sadhbhavna initiative, aimed at bridging developmental gaps and fostering goodwill among local communities. The distribution drive was organised by E Company of the paramilitary unit and was attended by school Head Master Mohd Salim, along with local dignitaries including Balwant Singh, Vikram Singh, Yaspal, Mohd Riyaz, Sachin Sharma, and physical training instructor Shalinder Parihar.

Speaking at the ceremony, officials highlighted the importance of digital tools in contemporary education and expressed hope that the provision of computers would equip students with vital skills and enhance their learning environment.

Students, many of whom come from underprivileged backgrounds, expressed enthusiasm and gratitude upon receiving the resources. Teachers noted that the donation would greatly assist in supplementing classroom teaching with digital content, thus opening up new avenues for both instruction and self-learning.

“This support from the Assam Rifles is not just a gift—it is an investment in the future of our children,” said Mohd Salim, Head Master of the school, adding that such gestures reinforce the shared commitment to nation-building and inclusive development.
