J&K Police Step Up Crackdown on Pakistan-Based Militants’ Networks in Doda

Doda, Aug 9 — Jammu and Kashmir Police have intensified their efforts to dismantle militant networks linked to Pakistan, carrying out searches at 15 locations in Doda district targeting the homes of individuals suspected of aiding terrorism from across the border.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Sandeep Mehta, told The Chenab Times that 117 Jammu and Kashmir nationals operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (JKNOPs) are currently active, with some maintaining contacts inside the district. “Based on inputs about such contacts, this search happened,” Mehta said.

The targeted locations were spread across Bhaderwah, Gandoh, Thathri, and Kastigarh areas. Police believe these JKNOPs are providing logistical support to foreign militants active in the Union Territory.

According to Mehta, police teams recovered “some gadgets and documents” during the searches. “All are under scrutiny, and if we find anything in them, it will be notified,” he added.

Authorities describe the operation as part of a sustained campaign to “destabilize these networks” and limit their ability to facilitate cross-border militancy. “These drives are being conducted to destabilize these networks,” Mehta emphasized.

The crackdown follows a series of recent operations across Jammu and Kashmir aimed at disrupting both infiltration routes and the local support structures militants rely on.
