Assam Rifles Organises Medical and Veterinary Camp in Doda

DODA, Aug 18 — The Assam Rifles held a medical and veterinary camp at Government High School, Hanch, in Doda district as part of Operation Sadbhavana, aimed at supporting local communities in remote areas.

According to details received by The Chenab Times, the camp provided medical services including general health check-ups, pediatric care, and free medicines to around 560 residents, with special focus on mothers and children.

A parallel veterinary drive was also conducted, during which 238 animals — including cows, sheep, goats, horses, mules, and buffaloes — were examined and treated.

The initiative was led by Assam Rifles medical officers along with veterinary experts from government hospitals. Officials said the program was designed to meet the healthcare and veterinary needs of Gujjar and Bakkarwal communities living in the rugged terrain of the Hanch area.

Local residents expressed gratitude to the Assam Rifles and Indian Army, stating the outreach efforts have helped build stronger connections between security forces and civilians.
