Jammu, Aug. 29 – The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has rescheduled the OMR-based written examinations for Junior Engineer (JE) posts in Civil and Electrical disciplines.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, the JE (Civil) examination, earlier postponed, will now be conducted on September 7, 2025. The JE (Electrical) examination, which was cancelled last week, has been rescheduled for September 21, 2025.
Fresh admit cards for JE (Civil) will be available on the official JKSSB website (www.jkssb.nic.in) from September 1, while admit cards for JE (Electrical) will be issued from September 15, 2025. Candidates have been advised to regularly check the board’s website for further updates.
The rescheduling comes after the JKSSB cancelled the JE (Electrical) exam scheduled earlier this month. The board said the cancellation followed weather-related issues at one examination centre. The test had been planned across 35 venues in Jammu and Srinagar, but could not be conducted at one of the locations, leading to the cancellation.
Despite the explanation, discontent grew among candidates. Earlier on the day of the exam, aspirants staged protests in Srinagar, alleging mismanagement and irregularities, including claims of a paper leak. Videos circulating on social media showed candidates with OMR sheets and mobile phones inside examination centres.
The JKSSB has not issued further comments on the allegations but confirmed the fresh dates for both examinations.
