Accused Arrested in Rajouri Gang-Rape Case, Manhunt Continues

RAJOURI, August 30 — A senior police official informed The Chenab Times that five accused have been arrested in the alleged gang-rape case of a 15-year-old girl in a village under Dharamsal Police Station, with efforts underway to apprehend the remaining suspects soon.

The case emerged after the victim’s parents lodged a written complaint, alleging that their daughter was gang-raped by nine individuals who threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed the incident. Following the complaint, FIR No. 65/2025 was registered at Dharamsal Police Station under sections 64(2)(m), 65(1), 70(2), 49 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and sections 5(g)/6, 9(g)/10, 11(v)/12, 16/17 of the POCSO Act against the nine accused. Police launched immediate raids, initially arresting four suspects, with the total now rising to five.

The Chenab Times learned that a manhunt is ongoing to nab the remaining four accused.
