DODA — Jammu and Kashmir Police District Doda has emerged as the top-performing district in the Jammu Zone for recovering lost and stolen mobiles through the CEIR Portal, according to a statement from the department issued to The Chenab Times.
Under the supervision of SSP Doda Sandeep Mehta, JKPS, the Cyber Police Station Doda, led by Insp. Surinder Veer and PSI Ankush Nagra, recovered 57 lost mobile phones valued at Rs 8,87,715 from various states and union territories. The team also retrieved Rs 8,00,835 in online defrauded money, showcasing professionalism and technical skills with support from the ESU unit led by PSI Sahil Kumar.
During a press conference at the District Police Office, SSP Mehta handed over the recovered mobiles to their owners, who expressed gratitude for the efforts. Mehta appealed to the public to safeguard their mobiles due to the risk of personal data misuse.
He urged reporting cyber fraud to the national helpline 1930 or www.cybercrime.gov.in, and lost or stolen mobiles to www.ceir.gov.in.
Since its establishment, the Cyber Police Station Doda has recovered Rs 56,77,173 in defrauded money and 276 mobile phones worth Rs 47,29,688.
