BANIHAL — A delegation from the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) met Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Banihal and Tehsildar Banihal on Friday to address pressing educational challenges faced by students in Banihal, Khari, Ramsu, and surrounding areas, according to details received by The Chenab Times.
Led by Mubashir Ahmed Naik, Ramban District Coordinator, the group—including Mohsin Rafiq Wani, Amir Saleem, Imran Shakeel, Firdous Malik, Sajad Farooq, and Imran Ahmed Lone—submitted a memorandum highlighting the need for better road connectivity and reliable transport for students commuting long distances.
The document also demanded upgrades to government schools, recruitment of sufficient teaching staff, establishment of career counseling centers, and introduction of skill-development programs to help local youth compete with peers from other districts.
The SDM and Tehsildar heard the delegation patiently and assured them the issues would be forwarded to higher authorities for timely resolution.
JKSA expressed optimism that swift administrative action will prevent educational deprivation and foster a supportive learning environment for students in the region.
