Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 was observed in Thathri tehsil of Doda district with an awareness programme focused on improving nutrition, healthcare and early childhood development.
According to details received by The Chenab Times from the District Information Office, the event was inaugurated by District Programme Officer Doda, Akhter Hussain Qazi (JKAS). Tehsildar Thathri Satish Rana (JKAS), representatives of the Health Department and field staff of Poshan Project Thathri were present on the occasion.
Anganwadi workers, local residents, women and children actively participated in the programme. Cultural performances and theme-based activities by children and Anganwadi workers highlighted the importance of balanced diet, hygiene, growth monitoring and community participation in child and maternal health.
Addressing the gathering, Akhter Hussain Qazi explained that the Poshan scheme aims to improve nutritional status of pregnant women, lactating mothers, adolescent girls and children through supplementary nutrition, regular health check-ups, counselling and community awareness.
Nutrition demonstrations, talks on anaemia prevention, distribution of IEC material and interaction with mothers’ groups were also organised during the event.
The programme concluded with an appeal to all stakeholders to work collectively towards achieving the objectives of Poshan Abhiyan and building a healthier community.
