AAP Organises Workers’ Meeting in Doda; Emphasises Public Grievances and Grassroots Strengthening

Party leaders highlight unity, organisational expansion and commitment to people-centric issues in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district

DODA: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convened a workers’ meeting at the Community Hall in Doda on Monday, drawing a large turnout of party activists and local residents for focused discussions on pressing public concerns and efforts to bolster the party’s organisational structure at the grassroots level.

The gathering served as a platform to deliberate on key issues affecting the people of the Chenab Valley and surrounding areas, with speakers underscoring the need to prioritise public welfare, address grievances promptly and build stronger connections with the masses.

According to details received by The Chenab Times, senior AAP leaders addressed the participants and stressed the importance of collective action to raise people-centric matters and resolve long-standing problems in the region. Emphasis was placed on maintaining unity within the party ranks, expanding its organisational reach in rural and semi-urban pockets of Doda district, and ensuring closer engagement with ordinary citizens to understand and represent their concerns effectively.

Among those who spoke at the meeting were Yassir Shafi Matoo, Owais Choudhary, Farooq Dar, Raja Shakeel, Najeeb Fani, Mudassir Butt, Advocate Mudassir Zarger, Rafee Sheikh and other prominent party figures from Jammu and Kashmir. Hundreds of party workers and supporters from various parts of Doda and adjoining areas attended, reflecting growing interest in AAP’s outreach efforts in the Chenab region.

The leaders reiterated the Aam Aadmi Party’s core commitment to work for the welfare of common people and to consistently amplify the voice of the average citizen in governance and policy matters. They called for sustained mobilisation to tackle local challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, access to basic services, employment opportunities and improved delivery of government schemes in remote and hilly areas of Doda.

The meeting comes amid AAP’s ongoing efforts to establish a stronger presence in Jammu and Kashmir following its participation in recent electoral processes and community-level initiatives across the Union Territory. Party functionaries described the event as a step towards building a robust network of dedicated workers capable of addressing region-specific issues while aligning with the party’s broader vision of transparent and accountable governance.

Participants expressed optimism about the potential for AAP to emerge as a credible alternative force in the Chenab Valley by focusing on practical solutions rather than traditional politics. Discussions also touched upon strategies to increase membership, train volunteers and organise regular public interactions to keep the party responsive to evolving needs.

Local residents who attended highlighted the significance of such gatherings in smaller districts, where direct dialogue with political representatives remains limited. Several attendees noted that the emphasis on unity and organisational discipline could help translate public aspirations into tangible outcomes if followed by consistent fieldwork.

AAP’s activities in Doda are part of its wider campaign to expand influence beyond urban centres of Jammu and Kashmir, targeting areas that have historically seen limited political competition. The party has positioned itself as an advocate for everyday issues, promising corruption-free administration and people-first policies.
