SRINAGAR: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday organized a protest in Srinagar, accusing the ruling National Conference (NC) of failing to fulfill significant public welfare promises.
Party members and workers gathered in large numbers, voicing slogans against the administration and alleging a departure from major electoral commitments.
The protesters specifically cited issues including the non-provision of 200 units of free electricity, inadequate supply of kerosene, and irregular distribution of LPG cylinders and petrol. They claimed that these shortcomings have led to public hardship and a neglect of their concerns.
Senior PDP leaders present at the demonstration highlighted the impact of the rising cost of living and shortages of essential commodities on the daily lives of residents.
The party warned of escalating their agitation if the issues raised were not addressed promptly. They asserted that the government must be held accountable for its stated commitments to the public.
