The advisory anticipates intermittent light to moderate rainfall across plains and snowfall in higher elevations, accompanied by thunder and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kilometers per hour, expected to persist until late evening or night on March 30 and extend into March 31.
Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating that the administration has strongly advised the public to refrain from undertaking non-essential travel. Movement on roads should be limited to only absolutely essential circumstances to mitigate risks associated with the predicted weather patterns.
Specific warnings have been issued to vulnerable groups, including tourists, Shikara operators, sand miners, and individuals whose work or presence is near water bodies such as Dal Lake, the Jhelum River, and other rivulets. These individuals have been cautioned against venturing out without thoroughly assessing the prevailing safety conditions. The potential for heavy rainfall and strong winds necessitates heightened vigilance near water expanses.
Authorities have appealed to the general public for cooperation and to remain alert throughout the duration of the adverse weather.
