Three boys drowned in the Tawi River near Sainik School Nagrota in Jammu on Sunday evening, prompting an extensive search operation involving local police and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
According to details received by The Chenab Times, the incident occurred during the evening hours when the three individuals slipped into the river and were swept away.
The deceased boys have been identified as Sonam Dutt, son of Sunny Dutt; Bavish Koul, son of Manohar Nath Koul; and Aditya Pandit, son of Shah Ji Pandit. All three were residents of the Nagrota area.
Following the incident, immediate efforts were launched by local authorities. Teams from the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the NDRF were dispatched to the site to commence a search for the missing boys. The terrain and the river’s current presented challenges to the rescue efforts.
The search operation continued through the night and into the following day, with authorities utilizing available resources to locate the bodies. Families of the victims were present at the scene, awaiting updates from the search teams. The local administration assured support to the grieving families and coordinated the rescue operations.
