Authorities in Nepal’s Lumbini province have arrested two Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen in connection with alleged drug trafficking. The arrests were made in the Rupandehi district, an area known for its proximity to the Indian border.
The Chenab Times has learned that the two Indian nationals apprehended have been identified as Arun Kumar, aged 18, and Binaya Pandey, aged 20. Both individuals reportedly hail from Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh, India. The Nepali national arrested alongside them has been identified as Bishal Yadav.
During the operation, police recovered a significant quantity of pharmaceutical drugs, including 3,300 ampules. The seized substances were identified as Phenergan, Diazepam, and Brufen, all of which are known for their sedative and dizziness-inducing properties. According to police reports, the individuals were allegedly utilizing a motorcycle registered in India to transport these narcotic drugs across the border.
The arrests underscore ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies in the region to curb the illicit trade of controlled substances.
