SRINAGAR: A 30-year-old man was discovered deceased under unexplained circumstances at his home in the Laroo area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday, prompting a police investigation.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the deceased has been identified as Shabir Ahmad Sheikh, son of Abdul Salam Sheikh, a resident of Laroo village.
Following the discovery, local authorities, including the Tehsildar of Kulgam, along with police personnel and a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), arrived at the scene. Their presence was to conduct an initial assessment and commence the necessary procedural investigations into the incident.
The Kulgam district, situated in the southern part of the Jammu and Kashmir union territory, has been the location of numerous security-related and criminal incidents in recent years. This particular case, however, is being treated as a death under mysterious circumstances, with authorities aiming to determine the precise cause.
The Jammu and Kashmir police have registered the incident and have initiated further investigation. The FSL team is expected to provide crucial forensic evidence that could shed light on the events leading to Mr. Sheikh’s death.
