Widespread Devastation Across Uttar Pradesh

The state has experienced a sudden and severe change in weather, leading to devastating consequences. Reports indicate that storms, heavy rain, and lightning strikes have claimed numerous lives over the past few days. In addition to human casualties, there have been reports of livestock deaths and significant crop damage, exacerbating the difficulties faced by farmers. The unseasonal rains and hailstorms have particularly impacted agricultural lands, causing considerable losses to the farming community. The government has also directed officials to provide immediate and transparent relief to affected farmers and sharecroppers, emphasizing the need for fair and time-bound surveys to assess crop damage.

The Uttar Pradesh government is fast-tracking compensation for farmers who have suffered losses due to storms, fires, hailstorms, and heavy rainfall. Administrative officials have been instructed to remain proactive in assessing crop damage and ensuring timely relief distribution. Efforts are underway to ensure that over 1,07,104 farmers affected by hailstorms alone receive rapid relief. The government has also assured that the remaining affected farmers will receive support promptly through an expedited assessment process. Funds from the State Disaster Relief Fund are to be released immediately to districts, with District Magistrates tasked with ensuring prompt and transparent disbursal.

Government on Alert Mode

The weather department has issued warnings of strong storms, rain, and lightning in several districts over the coming hours, prompting the administration to remain on high alert. The government has appealed to the public to stay indoors during adverse weather conditions and to avoid open areas, trees, and electric poles. The Chief Minister has made it clear that the government stands firmly with farmers and all residents of the state during difficult times, reiterating that reaching every affected individual remains the government’s top priority. The swift directives from Chief Minister Adityanath aim to mitigate the impact of the natural calamity and provide much-needed succor to those affected.
