NEW DELHI: Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the alleged rape, confinement, and mental harassment of a 23-year-old woman over a period of two years in Delhi’s Batla House area. The woman, a resident of Jamia Nagar in South Delhi, approached the Jamia Nagar police station on May 14 to file a complaint detailing the harrowing experiences that began in 2022.
According to her complaint, the victim first met a man on social media in 2021 who introduced himself as ‘Sahil’ and claimed to be from a wealthy Hindu family, expressing an interest in marriage. She later discovered his real identity to be Faheem, and that his family was allegedly involved in gunrunning. The woman alleges that she was brought to a house in Batla House in 2022, where she was first raped by Faheem and others. Subsequently, she was taken to Uttar Pradesh, and the sexual exploitation reportedly continued there.
The victim stated that she did not approach the police earlier due to continuous threats from the accused. It was only after her husband, Faheem, was arrested by Haryana Police in 2025 in connection with an illegal arms case that she felt safe enough to flee his residence and report the matter. Based on her complaint, a case has been registered at Jamia Nagar police station under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including kidnapping, rape, criminal intimidation, wrongful confinement, and criminal conspiracy.
The investigation has revealed that the alleged crimes occurred before the implementation of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police said another accused, identified as the survivor’s husband, is already in judicial custody in Haryana. The accused were reportedly arrested last week following the woman’s detailed complaint.
Reports indicate that the woman also alleged that her name was changed to ‘Ayesha’ and her Aadhaar details were manipulated. She further claimed that she was subjected to severe physical and psychological torture, including being forced to clean and cook blood-stained meat, and threatened with dire consequences if she refused. In one instance, she alleged that her daughter was threatened by hanging her upside down from a terrace.
The alleged exploitation extended beyond Delhi, with the complainant stating she was taken to Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, where she claims the sexual assaults continued. Videos of the assault were allegedly recorded by the accused and used for blackmail. Further allegations include threats received from a Dubai-based number even after the arrests were made, suggesting a continued pattern of intimidation.
Police have arrested four individuals in connection with the case and have filed a production warrant for the main accused, Fahim, who is already incarcerated. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities examining digital evidence, witness accounts, and the sequence of events to corroborate the allegations.
