Lucknow: Woman Allegedly Gang-Raped, Held Captive for Three Days; Three Accused Booked

A woman has alleged that she was gang-raped and held captive for three days in Lucknow. A case has been registered at the Sushant Golf City police station based on a zero FIR transferred from Delhi police, officials confirmed on Sunday.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the zero FIR was received from the Anand Vihar Government Railway Police Station on May 22. The FIR was lodged under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) in Lucknow, Rallapalli Vasanth Kumar, the complainant has accused two men, identified as Shivam Yadav and Sunny Yadav, both residents of Jaunpur district, along with an unidentified accomplice, of rape.

A preliminary inquiry by the police indicated that the alleged incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Sushant Golf City police station. Following this, an FIR was formally registered, and an investigation has been initiated.

“Four police teams have been formed to trace and arrest the accused, while evidence collection and other legal formalities are under way,” the officer stated.

The woman, who also hails from the Jaunpur district, reported that she had travelled to Delhi on May 15 after spending time in her hometown. Her journey to the capital was aboard the Suheldev Express train.

In her complaint, she stated that she contacted her acquaintance, Shivam Yadav, via WhatsApp during her train journey. Upon her arrival at Charbagh railway station in Lucknow, Shivam allegedly met her. He then persuaded her to accompany him to a rented accommodation located in the Sushant Golf City area.

The complainant further alleged that another individual, identified as Sunny Yadav, was also present with Shivam when they met her at the station. The three reportedly travelled together by cab to the rented room. She claimed that after consuming coffee at the accommodation, she began to feel dizzy and drowsy, after which Shivam allegedly raped her.

The woman’s statement to the police detailed that Sunny Yadav also allegedly raped her on the following day after Shivam had briefly left the room. According to her account, on May 17, an unidentified man joined the two accused and they allegedly gang-raped her.

She further claimed that after her condition worsened, the accused transported her back to Charbagh railway station. They reportedly arranged a sleeper-class ticket for her on the Suheldev Express and sent her back to Delhi. While on the train, she informed her father about the incident over the phone. This communication prompted her family to contact the railway helpline for assistance.

Police officials stated that the Government Railway Police coordinated with authorities in Delhi. There, the woman’s statement was recorded, and a zero FIR was filed before the case was transferred to Lucknow for further investigation into the allegations.

Officials also noted that the complainant and the main accused, Shivam Yadav, reportedly knew each other for approximately four to five years. They are also said to be distant relatives.
