Andhra Pradesh: Fire on Undavalli Hill Near Chief Minister’s Camp Office Extinguished

A fire that broke out on Undavalli hill, located near the Chief Minister’s camp office in Andhra Pradesh, has been brought under control. Firefighting personnel were quickly deployed to the scene and worked to prevent the flames from spreading towards nearby colonies and inhabited areas.

According to officials, fire and emergency services received information about the incident on Sunday evening and immediately dispatched fire engines. Firefighters acted swiftly, managing to extinguish the blaze before it could reach populated areas. The fire reportedly approached a church in the vicinity, but emergency responders successfully contained it.

The Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, closely monitored the situation. He communicated via phone with the Guntur District Collector, C.M. Sai Kanth Varma, and senior fire services officials to gather updates and issue directives. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for continued vigilance until the fire is completely extinguished and instructed officials to remain alert and keep the public informed.

Authorities have stated that two fire engines were stationed near the Kummarigunta Cheruvu, a water body in the Undavalli area, to ensure any rekindling could be promptly addressed. Firefighters utilized hoses to supply water to the hill and suppress the flames.

While the immediate threat has been neutralized, officials are investigating the cause of the fire. There is suspicion among authorities that the fire may have been intentionally set by unidentified individuals, although no definitive cause has been established.

The incident occurred in the Tadepalli mandal of the Guntur district. This region has experienced fires on Undavalli hill in the past, but the intensity of this recent event was noted to be significant. The proximity of the villages of Undavalli and Penumaka to the hill had caused concern among residents, who feared the fire could spread to their homes.
