SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha released the 15th edition of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra Guide Book at Lok Bhavan on Monday, emphasizing its role in ensuring a safe and well-informed pilgrimage for devotees.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the Lieutenant Governor commended the Tourism Federation of Jammu for its persistent efforts to enhance pilgrimage tourism. He also acknowledged the collaborative work among various organizations that facilitates a secure, smooth, and spiritually enriching Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
The newly published guide book provides pilgrims with comprehensive details, including information on registration procedures, safety protocols, available medical facilities, accommodation arrangements, guidelines for Yatra discipline, and emergency contact numbers for both routes leading to the Holy Cave from Lakhanpur.
Officials have indicated that preparations for the Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2026 are currently in progress. Arrangements are being coordinated with Jammu Smart City Limited. Regular Aarti ceremonies are slated to commence on June 29, coinciding with Jyeshtha Purnima, alongside the operation of langar services at the existing registration counter in Jammu.
Rajesh Gupta, Chairman of the Tourism Federation of Jammu, stated that following the successful implementation of the Jammu Tawi Aarti initiative, regular Aarti programs have been extended to numerous other religious sites across the region. These include Surinsar Nag Mandir, Baba Kailakh Dev Sthan, Purmandal, Ghagwal, Jatwal, and Raghunath Mandir.
Furthermore, Gupta informed that a video documentary is under production to showcase the enhanced facilities available for pilgrims undertaking the journey from Lakhanpur to the Holy Cave, covering both established Yatra routes. This film is intended for release prior to the commencement of the pilgrimage to familiarize devotees with the arrangements and safety measures in place.
The guide book was designed and printed by ESPA FEE Private Limited for complimentary distribution among pilgrims. The release ceremony was attended by senior officials and representatives from a range of tourism and religious organizations.
