Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena inaugurated a newly constructed farmers’ hostel in Lower Kurbathang, Kargil, on Sunday. The facility is intended to bolster support infrastructure for the region’s farming community.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that following the inauguration, Lieutenant Governor Saxena engaged directly with local farmers. He actively listened to their concerns, suggestions, and feedback concerning agricultural development and related challenges faced by the community.
The Lieutenant Governor assured the farmers that the administration would provide all necessary support to promote sustainable agricultural practices and enhance the livelihoods of those engaged in farming. This commitment aims to foster a more robust and prosperous agricultural sector in Ladakh.
During his visit to Kargil, Lieutenant Governor Saxena also toured the Hi-Tech Greenhouses established by the Agriculture Department. He commended the department for its initiatives and acknowledged the progressive farmers who are embracing modern farming techniques to improve crop yields and quality.
Saxena took the opportunity to inquire about the specifics of crop production, cultivation methods currently in use, and the overall operational efficiency of the greenhouse units.
