Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir: In a significant move aimed at crippling the financial network of drug traffickers, Srinagar Police has attached immovable properties valued at approximately ₹5.6 crore under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The action is part of the ongoing ‘Nasha Mukti Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan,’ a concerted effort to eradicate the drug menace from the region.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the Srinagar Police, through its various stations including Saddar, has undertaken a series of property attachments belonging to individuals allegedly involved in narcotics trade. These seizures represent a substantial blow to the economic infrastructure supporting illicit drug trafficking.
According to official statements, the attached properties include several significant assets that have been identified as illegally acquired through the proceeds of drug trafficking. The process strictly adheres to the provisions outlined in the NDPS Act, with each attachment subject to confirmation by the competent authority.
Specifically, Police Station Saddar attached properties in connection with multiple FIRs registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. These include a property worth approximately ₹65 lakh belonging to Mohd Yaseen Rather of Chanapora, linked to FIR No. 42/2023. Another attachment involves a property valued at around ₹60 lakh belonging to Suhail Rashid Haroon of Gousia Colony, Lal Nagar, in connection with FIR No. 41/2025.
Furthermore, a property estimated at ₹75 lakh belonging to Mohd Asif Rather of Bagh-i-Mehtab was attached due to its connection with FIR No. 35/2026. Arsalan Syed Beigh of Azad Basti, Natipora, also had a property worth approximately ₹35 lakh attached in relation to FIR No. 28/2026.
The police also seized a substantial asset worth around ₹1 crore belonging to Hilal Ahmad Parray of Budshah Nagar, Natipora, in connection with FIR No. 23/2026. Danish Reyaz Shah of Sanat Nagar had a property valued at approximately ₹75 lakh attached as part of FIR No. 21/2025.
In another instance, a property worth approximately ₹70 lakh belonging to Saqib Naseer Beigh, a resident of Baramulla currently residing in Natipora, was attached in connection with FIR No. 45/2025. The residential house of Shaheem Farooq Bhat of SD Colony, Natipora, valued at approximately ₹80 lakh, was also seized under FIR No. 08/2026.
These decisive actions by the Srinagar Police are intended to dismantle the financial backbone of drug trafficking syndicates by targeting their unlawfully acquired wealth. By depriving drug peddlers of these assets, the police aim to disrupt the economic networks that sustain the drug menace and deter further criminal activities.
