Jammu and Kashmir Police Reshuffle: 19 Officers Transferred in Baramulla

SRINAGAR: The District Police Headquarters in Baramulla has initiated a significant reshuffle, ordering the transfer and posting of 19 police officers. The directive, aimed at streamlining administrative functions, includes the appointment of DySP (P) Rajat Sambyal as the new Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Boniyar. The changes are effective immediately.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the order, bearing number 403 of 2026 and dated July 28, 2026, was issued by the District Police Headquarters Baramulla. The stated reason for the transfers is in the interest of administration, with all affected officers directed to hand over their charges to their successors promptly. They have been deemed relieved with immediate effect.

Among the key postings, Inspector Shabir Ahmad has been moved from his role as SHO Police Station Kunzer to serve as SHO Police Station Baramulla. Concurrently, Inspector Sheikh Manzoor, previously in charge of Establishment at the District Police Headquarters (DPHQ), will now assume the position of SHO Police Station Kunzer. Inspector Tanveer Jahangir, who held the post of SHO Police Station Boniyar, has been transferred to the DPHQ where he will head the Crime Section.

Inspector Hilal Ahmad, formerly the SHO of Police Station Baramulla, has been reassigned to the District Police Lines (DPL) as the In-charge of Training Indoor. Inspector Wasim Ahmad is being posted from the DPL to serve as the SHO of Police Station Kreeri. Inspector Arif Hameed Khan is being transferred from his previous role as In-charge Training Indoor at the DPL DTC to become the SHO of Police Station Sheeri.

Inspector Sajad Rasool has been appointed as the SHO of Police Station Women. In addition to this primary role, he will also hold the additional charge of SHO Police Station AHTU and SHO Police Station Cyber. Furthermore, he will assume responsibility as the District Juvenile Officer. Inspector Syed Mudasir Javid has been transferred from his position as In-charge Crime Section at the DPHQ to the DPL, where he will serve as the Motor Transport Officer (MTO). Inspector Mudasir Shafi will transition from the DPL to take up the role of In-charge Establishment at the DPHQ.

At the sub-inspector level, SI Mymoona Bano has been transferred from SHO Police Station Women to become the In-charge of Police Post Delina. SI Imtiyaz Ahmad, who previously served as In-charge Police Post Delina, has been posted to the DPL. SI Muneer Ahmad has been moved from his post as In-charge Police Post Mirgund to serve as the second officer at Police Station Baramulla. PSI Aamir Shahzad has been transferred from his role as the second officer at Police Station Kunzer to become the In-charge of Police Post Kamalkote.

PSI Aijaz Ahmad is being posted from his position as the second officer at Police Station Baramulla to the DPHQ, where he will be in charge of Legal matters. PSI Suheeb Ahmad has been transferred from In-charge Police Post Kamalkote to take over as In-charge of Police Post Old Town. PSI Azhar Shakeel has been moved from his role as the second officer at Police Station Kreeri to assume charge as In-charge Police Post Wagoora. Finally, PSI Sameer Ahmad has been transferred from In-charge Police Post Wagoora to the DPHQ, where he will manage the General Branch (GB).

SI Bilal Ahmad has been transferred from the DPL to become the In-charge of Police Post Mirgund, completing the series of appointments and transfers. The orders emphasize that all transfers and postings are effective immediately, and the concerned officers are to consider themselves relieved from their previous duties forthwith.
